Spring 2007 semester has already begun. Welcome new students and welcome back
returning students. I wish ALL of you a good start and a successful semester.<br>

Please read this important information and take action on the items that apply
to you and your situation.<br>
<br>
1. To maintain your legal F-1 status, it is the responsibility of ALL
international students to :<br>
<br>
• Register and maintain your full time course
load (at least 9 hours for grad and 12 <br>
hours for undergrad) throughout the
semester. Only ONE (3credit hours) Internet <br>
course can be used to fulfill your
full time course load, the rest must be regular <br>
classroom base courses. Contact the
International Student Adviser (ISA) if you have <br>
questions. <br>

• Report your new address directly to the
International Student Office (ISO) within
10 <br>
days of the change. You can submit
your change of address online <br>

• Remember to regularly log on to the
International Student Website and read <br>

• Activate your Leo-mail <a

important messages and announcement sent from the <br>
university and the ISO.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>
• Check the expiration date of your I-20 (page 1, # 5) and contact the
ISA to extend <br>
your I-20 within 30 days
before the expiration date. A new bank statement and a <br>
copy of your degree plan are
required when extension is requested.<br>
<br>
2. For NEW students who enrolled at TAMU-Commerce for the
first time this <br>
semester, you can log on to the

3. For students who have changed major, admitted to a second
degree, or changed <br>
degree level: <br>
You must contact the ISA and request for a
new I-20 with a new major or degree. <br>
You must bring your current I-20 with you
when you make a request in writing.<br>
<br>
4. For students who are 20 hr GA/TA or are enrolled in your
last semester and <br>
registered for less than
required course load this semester (less than 9 hours for grad <br>
and 12 hours for undergrad): <br>
You must report your reason for taking
less than your required hours to the ISA <br>
before the 12th class day to prevent
being reported in SEVIS as out-of-status.<br>

5. For students expecting to complete your course of

If you plan to apply for CPT
or OPT, you must make an appointment with the ISA and come in person with <br>
completed CPT or OPT package.
