[Intl-stu] Waiver Information: DUE February 1st (Tomorrow)

Greetings Student!



Here is the information about submitting a waiver form. Reach out to Academic Health Plans regarding your question and make sure you apply for a waiver. This has to be done each semester. The insurance charge will remain until you have an approved waiver form. https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/.



According to the Texas A&M University System regulation, international students (F-1 & J-1) are required to hold insurance that meets the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements as well as provides repatriation and medical evacuation. International Students are defined as students who are not United States citizens or permanent residents of the United States. (See attached information).



If you have your own insurance

It is important you read the attached documents that explains the responsibility you have as a student to provide evidence of insurance by submitting a waiver to Academic Health Plans (AHP).

If you do not submit a waiver, OR if you fail to take any action and/or if you missed the waiver deadline to be approved, you will be automatically enrolled in the System Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) through AHP, and the charge will be applied to your student account.

DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR WAIVER is 02/01/2024!
AHP is the one who makes the decisions whether a waiver is approved or denied. Reach out to Academic Health Plans if you have any questions regarding your waiver being denied.
