[Intl-stu] Last Day to Apply for Fall 2023 Health Insurance Waiver!

[International Students]

Greetings Students!
 
According to the Texas A&M University System regulation, international students (F-1 & J-1) are required to hold insurance that meets the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements as well as provides repatriation and medical evacuation. International Students are defined as students who are not United States citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
 
If you have your own insurance
Please apply for waiver here: https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/
•         Choose ”OPT OUT” and follow directions on website.
Academic Health Plans oversees approving or declining the health waiver once submitted.

*It is important to read the attached documents that explains the responsibility you have as a student to provide evidence of insurance by submitting a waiver to Academic Health Plans (AHP).

International Student Health Insurance

Fall 2023
Fall international students will be enrolled in Fall Health Insurance 2023. The coverage will start on September 1, 2023, thru December 31, 2023. You may apply for a waiver, ALL WAIVERS must be submitted during this period August 2, 2023, to September 7, 2023.

 * Students will automatically be enrolled in Fall Insurance with a charge of $1,010 on your student account. If you do not see a charge on your account, please contact: intlinsurance at tamuc.edu<mailto:intlinsurance at tamuc.edu>.


If you do not submit a waiver, OR if you fail to take any action and/or if you missed the waiver deadline to be approved, you will be automatically enrolled in the System Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) through AHP, and the charge will be applied to your student account and will not be removed.
