International Education Week 2022 (November 14-18)




International Education Week (IEW), November 14-18, 2022, is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. International Education Week is a joint initiative of the Department of Education and the Department of State. IEW celebrates international education and a celebration of global understanding and fosters inter-cultural understanding. Office of International Programs in collaboration with Global Student Association (GSA) will be hosting different events throughout the week! Join the OIP in this fun week of global celebration. Check out the IEW week schedule below. Open to everyone!

International Flag Parade, Monday, November 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. @ Alumni Center To kick-off IEW, we would like to invite you to participate to carry your native flag and showcase your culture. There will also be free hot cocoa, international cookies and candies, live music (Indian instrument: Dhol), Live DJ, Live international dancers, Cheer Lion  Team and Lucky the Mascot and free T-shirt (while supply last). The parade will begin at the RSC and end at the Alumni Center.  Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend the event, the larger the crowd and noise the better!   International Poster Fair, Monday, November 14, Noon to 4 p.m. @ Foyer, RSC  A poster exhibition showcasing international countries represented at TAMUC. Poster information gathered from our very own international faculty and students.  Cultural Connect: Learn Diverse Language, Monday, November 14,  2 to 3 p.m. @ Foyer, RSC Learn phrases and expert a global language presenting countries, Cambodia, India, South Korea, Spain, and France.   Indian Movie Night, Monday, November 14, English Vinglish,  5 p.m. @ The Club, RSC  Experience a variety of film from around the globe!    Taste of Germany, Tuesday, November 15, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. @ Baptist Student Center Lebkuchen: a Christmas Tradition, Make your own German Christmas cookies as a great gift for relatives, and taste German Food.   Transforming Lives: International Alumni Pane, Wednesday, November 16, 11:30 a.m. 1: 00 p.m. @ Legacy, RSC  Interested in learning about how your peers secured their full-time positions? Want to hear from recent International Student Alumni on their job search process? Join us for a panel discussion which will highlight the international student experience in the job market. Light snacks will be served. Registration required for attendance, click here.   Nigerian Movie Night: Finding Fela, Wednesday, November 16,  5 p.m. @ The Club, RSC Experience a variety of film from around the globe!    International Food Festival 2022, Thursday, November 17, 11a.m. to 1 p.m. November 16, Pavilion  The most anticipated event of the year, International Food Festival 2022. Taste flavors from around the world as global students share food from their home country and enjoy live Mariachi Band.   Friendsgiving: Thanksgiving luncheon, Friday, November 18. 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. @ Lions of Christ  Friendsgiving is a blend of friend and Thanksgiving, and it refers to a large meal eaten with friends either on or near Thanksgiving. Join us for a free thanksgiving meal.   Korean Movie Night: Train to Busan: Friday, November 18, 5 p.m. @ The Club, RSC Experience a variety of film from around the globe!
