[Intl-stu] **TAMUC FALL 2022 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT INSURANCE WAIVER INFORMATION**

Greetings Students!

We hope our email finds you well.

The Office of International Programs is sending you this email to keep you informed on the student health insurance and to notify you that the FALL 2022 ARRIVAL waiver portal was opened 8/2/2022 and will close 9/7/2022. Please make note, if you have your own health insurance plan from a third party and you will NOT purchase insurance through the school, you will need to file a timely waiver. See instructions in the attached notification.

If you are planning to purchase Texas A&M-Commerce health insurance, there is no action you need to take. You will be automatically billed to your student account. You will receive a health insurance ID card from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.

According to the Texas A&M University System regulation, international students (F-1 & J-1) are required to hold insurance that meets the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements as well as provides reparation and medical evacuation. International Students are defined as students who are not United States citizens or permanent residents of the United States. (see attached information).

If you have your own insurance, it is important you read the atached documents that explain the responsibility you have as a student to provide evidence of insurance by submieng a waiver to (AHP). The AHP website that can be found at https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/. If you do not submit a waiver , OR if you fail to take any action and/or if you missed the waiver deadline to be approved, you will be automatically enrolled in the System Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) through AHP, and the charge will be applied to your student account.
