Greetings,
I hope this email finds you well.
Many of you have inquired about Spring 2021 and whether you can take your classes fully online or not.
OIP has received the clear mandate that for Spring 2021, returning students can take classes fully online. The requirement will be that you will need to maintain full course load to maintain your status.
Below is the mandate:
"Nonimmigrant students should continue to abide by SEVP guidance originally issued in March 2020. The guidance enables schools and students to engage in distance learning in excess of regulatory limits due to the public health emergency generated by COVID-19. The March 2020 guidance applies to nonimmigrant students who were actively enrolled at a U.S. school on March 9, 2020, and are otherwise complying with the terms of their nonimmigrant status, whether from inside the United States or abroad."
For Graduate Students, full course load is 9 credit hours. The exception to this mandate are GAs and in your last semester.
For Undergraduate Student, full course load is 12 - 18 credit hours. The only exception is in your last semester.

OIP wishes you a safe Christmas break and we look forward to Spring 2021!!!!!
Kind regards,
