THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR SSHIP WAIVER REQUEST IS OCTOBER 3, 2019. A WAIVER REQUEST MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR EVERY ELIGIBLE SEMESTER.
The SSHIP premium amount for the Fall 2019 semester is $877. This charge will be added to student accounts after a student has registered for courses for Spring 2019 and once the university begins applying tuition and fees. Payment will need to be made by the 12th day of class or Student Accounts will assess a late fee penalty for students who have not paid the SSHIP premium. The coverage period for students will be September 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
All NEW Fall 2019 students are mandated by Texas A&M System to purchase additional SSHIP premium at the cost of $219.50. This premium provides coverage from August 1 to August 31, 2019 and is helpful in covering costs of required immunizations. Payment should be made by the 12th day of class or Student Accounts will assess a late fee penalty.
Graduate assistants with current Grad Plan insurance coverage will need to submit the Assistantship Verification Form<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/FormsOnlineServices/assistantship_form.aspx>. GA's with Grad Plan insurance DO NOT submit a waiver request, only the Assistantship Verification Form.<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/FormsOnlineServices/assistantship_form.aspx>

Temporary Protected Status
International students on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and who are maintaining the F-1 status through enrollment in full course load in fall and spring semesters are categorized as F-1 students. The regulation is:
"An F-1 student who maintains the terms and conditions of his or her F-1 status during TPS should be considered to have remained in and continue in F-1 status at the end of TPS."
Being in F-1 status, Texas A&M policy states that F-1 students must purchase insurance while studying in the United States. Therefore, students with both F-1 and TPS statuses will be billed for insurance. If student chooses to remain only on TPS status through enrollment in less than full course load, s/he will not be billed, but, the student should be considered out-of-status at the end of TPS. Student must apply for re-instatement to USCIS or obtain a new I-20 for travel and re-entry into the U.S., if s/he has valid F-1 visa.

ALL QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE SSHIP WILL NEED TO BE SENT TO INTLINSURANCE at TAMUC.EDU<mailto:INTLINSURANCE at TAMUC.EDU>
