WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS (OIP)



Welcome back to campus! Although it has been over a week since fall classes began, yet the semester is still new. It is therefore fitting of me to say, "Welcome back to campus and best wishes for the new semester from OIP." Please take note of the following important information.

New Office Structure

1. The Global Programs Office (GPO) and International Student and Scholar Services Office (ISSSO) have merged into one office - the Office of International Programs (OIP). OIP has two units of operation: Study Abroad Programs and International Student and Scholar Services.



2. A restructuring of OIP Website information is ongoing to reflect these changes.



3. Office location has changed. We are no longer located in the Halladay Building, Room 104. OIP's new offices are located on the 2nd Floor of Ferguson Social Sciences Building, Rooms 220 and 221. *Halladay space will be for OIP meetings, International Student Associations meetings and much more.



New Director and OIP Team



Dr. Titilola (Joyce) Adewale is the new Director of OIP. She joined the office on Thursday, August 9, 2018. She will like to be meet with International Student Associations as the semester progresses. *Presidents of student associations, please feel free to invite her to your meetings. Thank you.

Ms. Tiffany Badon is the new International Student Advisor for OIP, while Ms. Lynda Weatherbee is our new Program Coordinator. Although two positions are currently open within the office, we are working hard to fill them quickly. Jay Biswal remains our Graduate Assistant while Paula Web and Sir Charles Miles Frost are the student workers.

Please do not hesitate to contact or visit us for your questions or concerns. Our apologies if in the past you had contacted the former office (ISSSO) without receiving a response. It is a new dawn and our goal as a team is to "make TAMU-C a home away from home for you."



Advising Hours



OIP advising hours remain the same. Walk-ins are permitted during these times only. When you visit, please remember to sign in using the OIP i-Pads. We hope to capture all visits. Walk-in hours are:



*         Monday & Tuesday: 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM

*         Thursday: 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM

*         Friday: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

*         (No Advising on Wednesday)



CPT / OPT Workshops



CPT and OPT workshops begin this week on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1 pm and will continue until the end of the semester. Feel free to sign up and attend as your schedules permit.

*(CPT and OPT workshops are mandatory for those wishing to engage in any practical training.)
