[Intl-stu] ISSSO Change of Status and Reinstarment Process Suspended Effective Feb 5, 2018

[International Students]

Dear Students:

Due to a short-term staffing reduction in the ISSSO, and a recent notification from SEVIS of a recertification process the University must undergo, effective 5 February 2018 we must temporarily suspend "change of status" and "reinstatement" requests for the spring 2018 semester.  Students wishing to change their status will need to do so by travel and/or by enlisting the services of an immigration attorney.  Guidance for this process can be found at http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/change-of-status.aspx.

Additionally, please confirm processing times for other requests on the ISSSO website at:
http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/documents/Processing%20Times%20for%20Requests%20and%20Applications.pdf.  These times are established using "business days" rather than "calendar days."
We hope to return to normal processing times and more normal staffing levels in the not too distant future.  In the interim, however, we will work diligently to handle each request expeditiously, but ask for your patience.
