The deadline to submit a waiver from the System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP) is today (September 6). Students who meet one of the A&M System allowed exceptions below will need to submit their waiver today (September 6) to be considered for a waiver from the SSHIP:
* Student is sponsored by the United States government;
* Student is sponsored by a foreign government recognized by the United States or certain international, government-sponsored or non-governmental organizations, and covered under a health plan that is compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). If the health plan does not include medical evacuation and repatriation, a rider must be purchased providing coverage at equal limits to the SHIP;
* Student is enrolled in an employer-provided group health plan that is compliant with the ACA. If the health plan does not include medical evacuation and repatriation, a rider must be purchased providing coverage at equal limits to the SHIP
As a reminder graduate assistants (GA's) DO NOT submit waivers. All waiver requests are processed by Academic Health Plans (AHP) and the ISSS will not consider any waiver requests. Any waiver requests submitted after September 6 will not be considered.
Please note it is your responsibility to follow up with AHP regarding your waiver requests and submit any additional required documentation.
