[Intl-stu] Just a friendly reminder from the ISSS

[International Students]

During the International Student Orientation each semester the Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) reminds students that while your friends (current students or "seniors") can be very helpful we caution you to "not trust in the advice of well-meaning friends."  This semester we have had more issues than usual with students appearing to listen to the advice of their friends and either ignoring or not really paying attention to our guidance.  This has primarily been related to the full course of study requirement and the System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP).

Attached is a comprehensive guide for the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) full course of study requirement and the SSHIP<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/insurance.aspx> process.  It is very important that F-1 and J-1 students review our full course of study guidance to ensure they are enrolled as required by the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
