The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) has a number of resources related to travel outside the U.S. for F-1 and J-1 international students at ISSS Travel and Visa Resources<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/travelinformation.aspx>. Please be sure to review these resources if you plan to travel outside the U.S. during the Thanksgiving or semester break (December and January). We will also be hosting two travel information workshops during the Travel Signature Week this week and you may go to http://bit.ly/2dMIE8p for more information or to register for the workshops.
A number of students have contacted our office for guidance related to traveling outside the U.S. during the semester (excluding holiday breaks) or returning to the U.S. after the start of the spring 2017 semester. Our Travel Guidance<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/documents/TravelGuidanceCurrentStudents.pdf> handout addresses the risks associated with traveling outside the U.S. during the semester or returning to the U.S. after the start of the semester. The ISSS will not give special permission for students to travel outside the U.S. during the semester (excluding holiday breaks) or returning to the U.S. after the start of the semester due to a number of factors. We recommend students review our guidance and all the other available travel resources on our website<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/travelinformation.aspx> and make their own informed decision regarding their travel plans.
