[Intl-stu] FW: New USCIS I-765 (OPT) filing fee

Effective December 23, 2016, USCIS will be increasing the filing fee for the Form I-765 employment (OPT/OPT STEM Extension) application from $380 to $410..  Other USCIS application fees will be increasing as well and some less common applications that may impact F-1 students include the Form I-129 (H1-B worker visa application) and Form I-539 (change of visa status or reinstatement) application.  You may go to https://www.uscis.gov/fees for more information and for a list of the new filing fees.

Graduating students for the fall 2016 semester who have not applied for 12-month OPT will need to submit their documents to OPT at tamuc.edu<mailto:OPT at tamuc.edu> by 5pm on December 14.  This is to ensure the ISSS will have enough time to process the OPT application so the student can submit their application to USCIS before the fee change take effect. Please note the university will close for the Christmas and New Year holidays on December 22, 2016 at 5pm and will reopen at 8am on January 2, 2017.  The ISSS will have limited staff availability the week of December 19.
