Be sure to check out the Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) calendar of events for the summer and fall at www.tamuc.edu/isso<http://www.tamuc.edu/isso> under Announcements. In July we will be hosting the following:
* End of summer session 1 Studio Movie Grill<https://www.studiomoviegrill.com/Locations/Texas/Plano/2016/6/29> trip on July 8.
* There are two dates for Practical Training Workshops in July. For more information go to ISSS Calendar<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/documents/CalendarApriltoDec2016.pdf>. Please note that registration is required to attend and the deadline to sign up is 5pm the day (Thursday) before the workshops.
* Walk-in Advising Hours<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/contactUs.aspx> at the ISSS will continue for summer session 2. Please note that walk-in advising times are suspended during ISSS sponsored events (check-in and welcome sessions, orientation, coffee hour, etc.). Be sure to review the ISSS Calendar<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/documents/CalendarApriltoDec2016.pdf> for a schedule of events and programs.
Per the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) regulations remember to:
* Report any change of your current physical address in the U.S. (where you live) within 10 days of moving at Address Update Form<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/address-update-form.aspx>. Do not provide a mailing address! Any time the ISSS needs to mail something to a student we will always verify your mailing address before we send a document.
* Review all guidance for traveling outside the U.S. at ISSS Travel Resources<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/currentStudents/visa-and-travel-resources1/default.aspx>. Also, attached is a Travel Guidance handout for all students.
* Do not work off-campus without first receiving authorization from the ISSS (2nd page of your I-20) or authorization from USCIS through an Employment Authorization Document (EAD card). For information about off-campus employment go to ISSS Employment<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/employment1/default.aspx> and Study in the States<https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/working-in-the-united-states>.
* Attached with this email is a frequently asked questions regarding the System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP). A number of students have contacted the ISSS regarding their insurance card and this handout addresses this question and many other common questions about the SSHIP. Students with a full-time graduate assistantship and the Grad Plan (GA insurance) may review the GA FAQ at Health Insurance Information<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/insurance.aspx>.
