At the beginning of each semester a number of international students apply for a driver's license or apply to renew their license. The ISSS has a number of resources on our website at http://bit.ly/2bmvqxx that we would recommend you review. Unfortunately, students also experience issues when applying for or renewing their driver's license due to the system or program to verify a non-immigrants status in the U.S., called SAVE, that is utilized by driver's license office across the U.S.

Attached with this email is a very important handout that explains the process and provides guidance if a student experiences issues when applying for a driver's license or SSN. Please be sure to read over this handout and the information on our website before you apply for a driver's license or apply to renew your license.

The ISSS will host two information sessions (in person and online) about the driver's license and SSN process. For more information go to www.tamuc.edu/isso<http://www.tamuc.edu/isso> and click on Orientation Series Workshops and Events under Announcements. We will also provide a shuttle (cost is $5) to the driver's license and Social Security Office in Greenville, TX in a few weeks and you may review our calendar at www.tamuc.edu/isso<http://www.tamuc.edu/isso> and select Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 Calendar under Announcements.
