[Intl-stu] SSHIP insurance charge for fall

The System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP)<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/insurance.aspx> premium charge for the fall 2016 semester will be applied to student accounts within the next week to two weeks for students currently enrolled for courses for the fall semester.  As a reminder, the SSHIP charge is automatically applied to a F-1, J-1, and student changing their status to F-1 once the student has registered for courses and tuition and fees have been applied.  It is your responsibility to review your student account to ensure accuracy for the SSHIP.

The SSHIP Fee<https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/enrollment> for continuing students (students enrolled at A&M-Commerce spring or summer 2016) for the fall 2016 semester is $947.  The SSHIP for new students (not previously enrolled in courses at A&M-Commerce) will be $1105 for the fall 2016 semester.  Please note the ISSS does not set the cost for the SSHIP.  The cost for the insurance is set by criteria and a bidding process at the Texas A&M University System.

Students who meet the one of the System Waiver Criteria<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/insurance.aspx> will need to submit their waiver request by September 6, 2016.  No waivers will be accepted after September 6.  All waivers are processed by Academic Health Plans and the ISSS will not review or process any waiver requests.

Students with full-time graduate assistants that have valid Grad Plan Insurance<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/documents/GraduateAssistantSSHIPFAQ1.pdf> for the fall 2016 semester will need to complete the Assistantship Waiver Form<http://www.tamuc.edu/campusLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServices/assistantship_form.aspx>.  GA's DO NOT submit waiver requests.
