You are cordially invited to a special panel discussion about the impact of Bilingual Education in America.

Bilingual education, an approach to teaching students who have not yet mastered English, has been controversial in our beloved, often xenophobic, nation for many years. A panel of local bilingual teachers, led by Dr. Chris Green, Director of Bilingual/ESL Teacher Education, will review the history of bilingual education since the days of our founding fathers through the era of Black and Latino civil rights movements to the present day. The panel will also discuss the challenges and joys of being a bilingual (Spanish-English) teacher in today's diverse classrooms and answer questions from the audience.

The panel discussion is Friday, April 22, 2016 at 6:00pm in the Traditions Room of the Rayburn Student Center at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
