[Intl-stu] Application for Intl Student Advisory Committee

[International Students]

The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) is accepting applications for membership on the International Student Advisory Committee.  The purpose of the International Student Advisory Committee (ISAC) is to serve as a representative body for the international student population at A&M-Commerce.  The committee will provide a channel through which matters of general concerns of international students and suggestions related to current and potential programs, events, and services provided by the ISSS may be communicated to the Director of the ISSS and through the Director of the ISSS to other university departments or administration.

The committee shall consist of the following:
*         One designated representative from each university recognized international student organization
*         At least three "at large" undergraduate and at least three "at large" graduate (currently enrolled) F-1 or J-1 international students
*         At least two students who are U.S. citizens

The committee will meet with the Director of the ISSS (or a designated representative in his absence) the first Tuesday of each month at 3pm (location to be announced) during the spring semester.  Membership for the current committee will be for the duration of the spring 2016 semester only.   Applications for membership for fall 2016 through spring 2017 will open in late spring.

Students interested in applying to be a member of the ISAC will need to complete this application and submit the application along with a recommendation letter from an A&M-Commerce faculty/staff member to John.Jones at tamuc.edu<mailto:John.Jones at tamuc.edu>.  The application deadline is December 11, 2015 and the first committee meeting will be Tuesday, February 2 at 3pm.
