Due to the weather forecast for tomorrow, the location will be changed from outside in the campus crossroads to the first floor of the Student Center in the Atrium.  We hope to see you all come out and take a leadership photo!

Good morning Faculty and Staff!

In an effort to raise awareness about the significance of authentic leadership we will be hosting a leadership selfie booth next Wednesday. We would like to invite all the departments, faculty and staff to come and take a departmental leadership selfie. Props will be provided and free photo printouts will be available. Hang your leadership photos in your office or take them with you, and show the campus community how the leaders of TAMUC  illustrate leadership. Below is more information about the event, we look forward to seeing you there!

Why are we having this Event?
The research doesn't lie, being an effective leader is synonymous with being an authentic leader. We want to get our students thinking about their individual, authentic leadership style in addition to raising awareness about the relationship between being true one's values, beliefs and character and being an effective leader.

How will this event achieve this?
By asking students to illustrate in an selfie what word(s) define their authentic self, students are prompted to identify their defining characteristic(s) which is the first and most important step on the road to being an authentic leader.  An authentic leadership handout will be distributed at the event to further educate students about authentic leadership.

What is this event?
A selfie booth where students can capture what they identify as their authentic leadership style. Each student will leave with a 4x6 photo print out where they will be able to write out their chosen word on the photo at the event. Props will be provided for students who want more context, and students are invited to take their leadership selfies alone or in a group. The photo booth also has a media sharing device so students will be able to instantly upload their selfies to their FB, Twitter, IG, send via email, etc. At the event we will also have a '10 Things Authentic Leaders Do on a Regular Basis' handout to help students bridge the gap between identifying their true self and being an authentic leader. We'll have music, snacks and giveaways..
