Hello All,

Beginning on January 16, TAMU-C will be hosting acclaimed artist Patrick Dougherty to install a temporary public artwork on our campus. Mr. Dougherty’s work has been shown nationally and internationally and we are very excited to bring his work to our community. The installation process will take three weeks and we are looking for community volunteers to assist in the project.

This is an excellent community service opportunity that will bring beauty and culture to our campus and we would like to extend an invitation to participate to everyone on our campus. Mr. Dougherty and his assistants and volunteers will be working seven days a week from January 16-February 6. If you, your organization or office would like to participate, we suggest making a team of 4 or 5 students/faculty (volunteers should be active students enrolled in courses with TAMU-C or faculty members) and contacting Bethany Hargrove as soon as possible for scheduling. If a larger group would like to volunteer, we will be scheduling large groups January 17 and 18, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Individuals, of course, are also welcome! We would prefer volunteers to commit to working either a morning shift (9-12pm) or afternoon (1-4pm) but any time that you can give would be appreciated!

If you are interested or have any questions, contact Bethany Hargrove. For images of past work by Patrick Dougherty, see his website: http://www.stickwork.net. Thank you very much and we look forward to working with you!
