Waiver requests for the System Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP) for fall 2015 has opened. All students who meet one of the A&M System established exceptions may submit their waiver information at https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/waiver. The A&M System requires all international students (all non-immigrant visas) to be enrolled in the SSHIP. For more information go to http://policies.tamus.edu/26-99-01.pdf.

Insurance charges for the fall 2015 semester will be $846.00 for current students and the coverage dates will be September 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015. Insurance charges will be added automatically to student accounts once a student registers for courses.

If you have any questions or need to verify if your waiver was approved by AHP for the fall 2015 semester you may email Intlinsurance at tamuc.edu<mailto:Intlinsurance at tamuc.edu>.

The Texas A&M University System has established five circumstances in which an international student can request a waiver to the student health insurance plan by providing alternative health insurance coverage. In order to be approved for a waiver, your alternate health coverage must meet the requirements as set in the System Regulation and be submitted with proof documentation prior to the September 11, 2015 deadline. The A&M System will allow exceptions as follows:

  *   Student is sponsored by the United States government;
  *   Student is sponsored by a foreign government recognized by the United States or certain international, government-sponsored or non-governmental organizations, and covered under a health plan that is compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). If the health plan does not include medical evacuation and repatriation, a rider must be purchased providing coverage at equal limits to the SSHIP;
  *   Student is enrolled in an employer-provided group health plan that is compliant with the ACA. If the health plan does not include medical evacuation and repatriation, a rider must be purchased providing coverage at equal limits to the SSHIP;
  * Student is enrolled in only distance learning programs; or
  * Student is involved in intercollegiate athletics and coverage for all medical insurance is provided through a policy as part of the current sports accident medical policy approved by System Risk Management.
If you meet one of the above waiver exceptions please submit your waiver request by September 11, 2015 by going to https://tamuc.myahpcare.com/waiver.
