As a reminder, all F-1 and J-1 students are required to enroll in a full
course of study each fall and spring semester. Permission from the ISSO
is required before a student may enroll in less than a full course of
study. A full course of study is:

* A minimum of 12 hours for undergraduate students with 9 hours
face to face and the remaining 3+ hours online or face to face

* A minimum of 9 hours for graduate students with 6 hours face
to face and the remaining 3+ hours online or face to face

Students who meet one of the exceptions listed below will need to be
sure to complete the Reduced Course Load form at
http://www.tamuc.edu/CampusLife/CampusServices/internationalStudentServi
ces/formsAndOnlineServices.aspx. Only students who meet one of the
following exceptions will need to complete Reduced Course Load form:

*         Student with full-time GA

* Student working on thesis or dissertation

* Student is in final semester

* Student concurrently enrolled (must contact ISSO)

If the spring semester is your last semester and you have fewer classes
(than a full course of study) left to graduate then you will need to be
sure to enroll correctly:

* If you are an undergraduate student and you have only 9 hours
left to graduate then 6 hours must be face to face and 3 hours online or
face to face

* If you have only 6 hours left to graduate (undergraduate or
graduate) then 3 hours must be face to face and 3 hours may be online or
face to face

* If you have only 3 hours left to graduate (undergraduate or
graduate) then it must be face to face

If you are not enrolled in a full course of study and you do not meet
any of the exceptions mentioned above you must either enroll in
additional courses to make sure you are following the rules of your visa
status or you will need to contact the ISSO to discuss your situation.

Students who fail to enroll correctly will jeopardize their ability to
remain in the U.S.
