This fall semester, the International Student Services Office is
sponsoring the Dinner in an American Home program. The Dinner in an
American Home provides an opportunity for international students to
connect with individuals and families in the university and surrounding
community. This program is designed to foster new friendships that
promote cultural learning, appreciation, and understanding for both the
hosts and students. This program is also designed to create an
environment which promotes the open exchange of cultural experiences,
customs, and ideas.
The expectation is for the host and student(s) to meet for one meal.
Placement in the program is dependent upon the number of hosts and
students who sign up. All current A&M-Commerce international students
are invited to participate in the program. Students outside of the
immediate area (example...DFW metro area) may sign up but placement will
be dependent upon hosts in the student's area.
There will be a welcome reception for all participants on Tuesday,
October 1 at 6pm in BA 343. All host and students are encouraged to
attend to meet each other and learn more about the program.
