[Intl-stu] Sign-up for Texas State Fair trip on Saturday, September 28

The ISSO is hosting a trip to the Texas State Fair on Saturday,
September 28 for all international students.  The Texas State Fair has
been a Texas tradition since 1886 and is home to many exciting
attractions.  Every day the fair features top-notch performances by
dance groups, music groups, professional groups such as the BMX bike
team, animal performances such as "Birds of the World, and many more
great performances.  The fair also features a midway with many different
amusement park rides, a gondola ride that transports visitors around the
fair grounds, and one of the largest car shows in the nation.  The Texas
State Fair is  great place to experience true "Texas culture" and for a
full schedule of activities on the 28th go to

concludes each evening with a  spectacular laser light show around
8:30pm.  The first three students to sign up will be free.  

 

The cost for the trip is $20 and this is due when you sign up.  Students
may sign up in person (no emails, phone calls, or friends signing up
friends) at the ISSO beginning Wednesday, September 4.  The $20
registration fee covers transportation and admission to the fair.  The
$20 is non-refundable and non-transferable once you have signed up.
Students will need to bring money for food and to purchase tickets to
ride the midway rides if desired.    

 

We will depart for the fair at 10:00am on Saturday, September 28 from
parking lot 35 by the Performing Arts Center/Gee Lake/Science Building.

returning to Commerce around 11:00pm.  Students will be required to ride
the bus back to Commerce from the fair.
