It is that time of the year where international students are making
travel plans for the Thanksgiving and winter breaks. This email is a
reminder to review your I-20 to see if you will need a travel signature.
The travel signature is on the last page of the I-20 and the signature
is valid for 12 months from the date of the signature for re-entry to
the U.S. A new signature is NOT REQUIRED to depart the U.S or every
time a student travels outside the U.S.
Please note that any travel signature requests may take up to 5 business
days to process. THE ISSO IS UNABLE TO PROCESS SAME DAY TRAVEL
SIGNATURE REQUESTS AND STUDENTS NEED TO BE PREPARED TO LEAVE THEIR I-20
AT THE ISSO TO PICK UP ON A LATER DAY. Students need to be sure to make
their travel signature request in a timely manner, at least 2 weeks
before they travel, to allow the ISSO time to review the student's
records and documents. Students outside the Commerce area may mail
their I-20's with the Travel Signature Request form linked below to the
ISSO for processing. Instructions to mail the documents are provided on
the form.
To request a travel signature students will need to complete the Travel
Signature Request form at
http://www.tamuc.edu/CampusLife/CampusServices/internationalStudentServi
ces/currentStudents/visa-and-travel-resources1/travel-information-for-cu
rrent-students.aspx and submit the Travel Signature Request form and
their original current A&M-Commerce I-20 to the ISSO. PLEASE NOTE THAT
THE TRAVEL SIGNATURE REQUEST MAY TAKE UP TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO PROCESS.
