[Intl-stu] International Education Week

[International Students]

WE NEED YOUR HELP! There are a number of activities planned by the
ISSO, international student groups, and other departments on-campus for
International Education Week November 18 through the November 22. These
activities include a language luncheon in partnership with the English
Language Institute(tentatively Monday and Tuesday), Nepal Night and Loy
Krathong Festival with the Thai Student Association on Tuesday evening,
Intl Coffee Hour Wednesday from 1pm-4pm at the Crossroads (AG/IT and BA
building), and Korean night Thursday evening. These events are great
way for our international students to share their culture with the
university and surrounding community.

The ISSO will need help from international student and student groups.
For more information see below:

* We will need volunteers to help with the International Coffee
Hour on Wednesday, November 20. Set-up will be between 10am-12:30pm and
we need students to help during this time. We will also need help
cleaning up between 3:30pm-5pm. Any students who would like to help can
email John.Jones at tamuc.edu.

* We need more cultures/countries to sign up to participate in
the Intl Coffee Hour. We have about 6 groups or countries signed up but
we need more. What we need are groups to be willing to provide coffee,
tea, and other beverages as well as sweets, treats, and desserts from
their country. Groups will also need to have volunteers to help serve
during the event. Any groups that are willing to set-up any games for
attendees would also be great. The ISSO will reimburse groups up to
$200 for food items purchased. For more information email
John.Jones at tamuc.edu.

* We will also need volunteers to help with the promotion of
events as well as help in planning and preparing for the events. Any
students who would like to volunteer may email John.Jones at tamuc.edu.
