As a reminder, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services requires all
F-1 international students to be enrolled in a full course of study each
fall and spring semester. This email is a reminder to caution students
against dropping below a full course of study during the semester. The
ISSO staff reviews student enrollment during the semester to ensure
continued compliance with USCIS regulations. Failure to meet this
requirement will jeopardize your ability to remain in the U.S.

Students in their final semester, working on their thesis/dissertation,
concurrently enrolled in courses at another school (with ISSO
permission), and students with full-time GA's may be allowed an
exception from this requirement. PLEASE NOTE that imminent failure in a
class, permission from your professor, or professor from your academic
advisor is not enough...you must have permission from the ISSO to drop
below a full course of study.

A full course of study is as follows:

* Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12
hours with only one online course counting toward the full course of
study requirement

* Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 hours
with only one online course counting toward the full course of study
requirement
