ALL STUDENTS WHO MEET ONE OF THE ALLOWED INSURANCE WAIVER EXEMPTIONS
WILL BE REQUIRED TO REPORT THEIR WAIVER ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION TO THE
NEW SYSTEM STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN
<https://www.academichealthplans.com/tamuc/2013-2014/> (SSHIP) BY
AUGUST 19 THROUGH THE SSHIP WEBSITE PORTAL ONCE IT IS ACTIVE. Any
student who does not provide proof of their waiver eligibility by August
19 will be automatically enrolled in the SSHIP (no exceptions). The new
SSHIP website portal is not active yet and we are working with the new
SSHIP to finalize the new SSHIP website portal. We apologize for any
delay.

IF YOU MEET ONE OF THE ALLOWED EXEMPTIONS LISTED BELOW PLEASE PREPARE
ANY PROOF OF ELIGIBIITY FOR THE WAIVER (ALTERNATE INSURANCE COVERAGE
DOCUMENTS)) AND WE ASK YOU TO PLEASE BE PATEINT AS WE FINALIZE THE
PROCESS. Once the process has been finalized and the new SSHIP
<https://www.academichealthplans.com/tamuc/2013-2014/> website portal
is active we will follow-up with students.

Below is a list of the allowed exemptions from the mandatory SSHIP
enrollment. Students must meet one of the allowed exemptions to be
eligible for a waiver. PLEASE NOTE the ISSO will no longer process
waiver eligibility but all waiver request will be submitted to the SSHIP

not include medical evacuation and repatriation, a rider must be
purchased providing coverage at equal limits to the SSHIP
<https://www.academichealthplans.com/tamuc/2013-2014/> ;

3. Student is enrolled in an employer-provided group health plan

Once the new process has been finalized we will send notifications
through the intl-stu list serve.
