The Lion Cousins is a mentor program that was created by an A&M-Commerce
international student in partnership with the International Student
Services Office (ISSO) at A&M-Commerce. The program is designed to help
students learn about the different cultures represented on campus.
American and international students will be paired up for either one
semester, or for the academic year. Lion Cousin participants are
expected to attend two events that will be planned by the ISSO every
semester as well as meet up with their "cousin" twice a month for a
meal, coffee, an activity, or just to hang out. This is a great way to
learn about the different cultures represented here at A&M-Commerce.

The application for the Lion Cousins program has been posted on the ISSO
website at
http://www.tamuc.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStudentServ
ices/Programs.aspx
<http://www.tamuc.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStudentSer
vices/Programs.aspx> . Students may sign up now and the deadline to
submit your application and a current photo is February 11.
Applications and photo can be emailed to sschirru at leomail.tamuc.edu
<mailto:sschirru at leomail.tamuc.edu> or you may bring them to the ISSO
in Halladay 104. Please be sure to include a current photo of yourself
with the application.

We will host a kickoff event on February 12th at 6:30pm in the Rayburn
Student Traditions Room. This kickoff event is where you will meet your
Lion Cousin and get more information about the Lion Cousin Program. If
you sign up for the program you will need to plan to be at this kickoff
event. For more information email sschirru at leomail.tamuc.edu
