[Intl-stu] Medical insurance reminder!

Just a reminder that the ISSO will begin applying the medical insurance
charges to all F-1 and J-1 international student's accounts after the
4th day of class, Thursday, January 17, 2013. The insurance charge will
be $369 and this will provide coverage until August when the premium
will be applied again.
Students will need to make payment for the insurance charge by Monday,
February 11, 2013. For information on how to pay your insurance charge

IF YOU HAD AN INSURANCE EXEMPTION IN THE FALL THIS DOES NOT GUARANTEE
YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EXEMPTION FOR THE SPRING. YOU MUST SUBMIT PROOF FOR
YOUR EXEMPTION ELIGIBILITY EACH FALL AND SPRING SEMESTER.
If you meet one of the exemptions listed below it will be your
responsibility to report your exemption and provide information to the
ISSO by Monday, February 11, 2013. Students who fail to report their
exemption eligibility by this date will be required to pay the insurance
charge and a refund will be processed at a later time.
* Students with full-time graduate assistantship who is covered
under the GA insurance plan/
* Student with government scholarship that includes medical and
repatriation/evacuation insurance. Insurance coverage must meet A&M
System minimum requirements found at

How do I report my eligibility for the mandatory enrollment with the
SSHIP?
* Students with a full-time GA will need to contact
Cynthia.Todhunter at tamuc.edu <mailto:Cynthia.Todhunter at tamuc.edu>
(903-886-5049) to confirm their GA coverage. Cynthia will send an email
to the ISSO to confirm. Please do not come to the ISSO to report your
GA. We will only accept notification from HR regarding your GA and
insurance.
* Students with government scholarship will need to ensure the
university has a current valid financial guarantee on file with the
Financial Service Office.
* Students who are covered under the insurance plan of their
spouse or parent(s) who is legally employed in the U.S. will need to
submit proof of coverage with the effective date for the insurance and
proof that the insurance meets the minimum coverage requirements for the
A&M System listed at
