Just a reminder that there is an Optional Practical Training workshop
this Friday, September 14 at 10am in BA 256. It is recommended that
students bring a notebook to take notes as the presentation is online.
Remember that students are required to attend an OPT workshop prior to
being eligible to apply for OPT. For a full schedule of practical
training workshops this semester go to
http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStu
dentServices/UpcomingEvents.aspx.

F-1 students are eligible for 12-months of employment in their field of
study in the U.S. after graduation (this is called OPT) and some
students in certain academic majors are eligible for an additional
17-months (OPT Extension). To learn more go to
http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStu
dentServices/employment1/default.aspx.

Note that the process to apply for OPT has changed this fall semester.
Be sure to review our website at

dentServices/employment1/opt/12-month-optional-practical-training1/Defau
lt.aspx for the steps to apply.
