Subject: [Intl-stu] Lion Cousin Program for Fall
The ISSO is partnering with an international student to develop the Lion
Cousin program this fall semester. This email is to let international
students know about this new program and to measure the interest in this
type of program. If you would be interested in participating in this
program please email John.Jones at tamuc.edu <mailto:John.Jones at tamuc.edu>
with your name and campus wide ID number.
The tentative kickoff for this event will be in September and
registration will be online through our website. Once we announce the
registration all A&M-Commerce students are invited to be a part of the
program. Please read below for more about the program:
Lion Cousins is a mentor program set up to help American students and
international students learn about each other's cultures. International
student students will be paired up with an American student for either
one semester, or an entire academic year. The expectation for the
program is that you will attend two planned events every semester with
your "Cousin," as well as meet up with your "Cousin" on a biweekly basis
for lunch, dinner, or just to hang out! This is a great way to learn
about the culture's of other countries, as well as help integrate
international students onto our campus!
