[Intl-stu] Practical training workshop and OPT changes

The ISSO has posted the schedule for the practical training workshops on
our website at

The first scheduled practical training workshops are as follows:

*        Curricular Practical Training Workshop is on Friday, August 31
at 10am in BA256

*        Optional Practical Training Workshop is scheduled for
Wednesday, September 5 at 3:30pm in BA 109.   Please note that students
are required to attend an OPT workshop in their final semester prior to
being eligible to apply for OPT.   



THE PROCESS TO APPLY FOR 12-MONTH OPTIONAL PRACTICAL TRAINING AND THE
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS HAS CHANGED THIS FALL SEMESTER!   If you are applying
for OPT this fall semester be sure to review the new process at our
website at
http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStu
dentServices/employment1/opt/12-month-optional-practical-training1/Defau
lt.aspx.  

 

Students may now apply by either (review our website for more details):

*        Attending an appointment in person

*        Submitting their documents in person at the ISSO (allow 5-10
business days to process)

*        Submitting their documents by mail (allow 5-10 business days to
process)
