Just a reminder, if you will enroll for less than a full course of study
this fall for one of the reasons listed below you will need to submit
the Report Less Than Required Hours prior to the start of the fall
semester:

* Student with only thesis or dissertation to graduate

* Student with full-time graduate assistantship

* Student in their last semester and enrolled in last required
course(s) (if you have one course left it cannot be an online "W"
course)

* Student concurrently enrolling in courses at A&M-Commerce and
another school (must contact ISSO to discuss enrollment)

The Report Less Than Required Hours form is located on our updated
website at www.tamuc.edu/isso and there is a new form under Forms and
Online Services. You may need to clear your internet cookies/cache
before going to the site.

If you will enroll in less than a full course of study this fall
semester for any other reason you must contact the ISSO prior to the
start of the fall semester to discuss your situation. Failure to enroll
in a full course of study will result in a violation of your visa status
and jeopardize your ability to remain in the U.S.

All international students are required by U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS) to enroll in a full course of study each
fall and spring semester. A full course of study is:

* Minimum of 12 semester credit hours for undergraduate student
each fall and spring semester

* Minimum of 9 semester credit hours for graduate student each
fall and spring semester

* Students are not required to enroll for the summer semester
unless it is their first semester at A&M-Commerce

* Only one (1) online course counts toward the full course of
study requirement

Subject: [Intl-stu] How many hours will you take this fall?

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has very few
exceptions to the full course of study requirement and students are
required to have the permission of the ISSO prior to enrolling in less
than a full course of study. Failure to enroll in a full course of
study as defined by USCIS (see below) will lead to a violation of your
visa status. Below is a list of exceptions allowed by USCIS:

* Student with only thesis or dissertation to graduate

* Student with full-time graduate assistantship

* Student in their last semester and enrolled in last required
course(s) (if you have one course left it cannot be an online "W"
course)

* Student concurrently enrolling in courses at A&M-Commerce and
another school (must contact ISSO to discuss enrollment)

If you will enroll in less than a full course of study for the fall
semester based on one of the above exceptions you will need to submit
the Report Less than Required Hours
<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGV1alVuM2h2TUllbW
R4My1TNzFESEE6MQ> form immediately. To submit the form you will need
to go to
http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/studentLife/campusServices/internationalStu
dentServices/formsAndOnlineServices.aspx. Please note this form has
been updated on our new website and you may need to clear your internet
cookies/cache before going to the above link.

If you will enroll in less than a full course of study for the fall
semester and do not meet one of the exceptions above you will need to
contact the ISSO immediately to discuss your situation. USCIS allows
very few exceptions to the full course of study requirement and failure
to enroll in the proper number of courses will lead to a violation of
your visa status.

As a reminder, all international students are required by U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services to enroll in a full course of study
each fall and spring semester.

Be sure to contact the ISSO with any questions or concerns.
