International Students intl-stu at TAMU-Commerce.edu
Wed Jan 19 11:51:43 CST 2011

As you are aware, this spring began our mandatory enrollment for all
international students in the A&M System insurance- AIP. The only
exemptions from the mandatory enrollment are as follows:

* Students with government scholarships (ex. Saudi Arabia, UAE)
that include medical repatriation insurance that meets our minimum
coverage requirements.

* Students with full-time graduate assistantships that have the
GA insurance. (Please be aware that there may be a 90 day waiting
period before the insurance is effective for new students enrolled in
the plan.)

* Students with spouses in the U.S. that have medical
repatriation insurance through their employer that meets our minimum
coverage requirements.

It is your responsibility to notify the ISSO if you are eligible for one
of the above exemptions. If the $274 charge appears on your account
incorrectly or you are exempted please email
john_jones at tamu-commerce.edu immediately.

The $274 premium charge will show up on your student account by the end
of this week and it will be a separate charge from your tuition and
fees. If the charge does not show up on your account by Monday, January
24, 2011 please contact the ISSO immediately.

Payment of the $274 premium MUST be paid by the 20th day of classes or
your classes may be dropped. When you make your payment please notify
the Bursar's office at 903-886-5050 to ensure the payment is applied to
the insurance charge. If you are on an installment plan you MUST notify
the Bursar to ensure any payments are applied to the insurance charge.

The ISSO submitted the preliminary report to AIP prior to the beginning
of the semester to ensure coverage from the first day of classes. We
will submit the final report after the 20th day of class and your
insurance card will be emailed to your university email by AIP by
February 21, 2011.

If you have an emergency or need information regarding your insurance
prior to this date please go to www.tamuinsurance.com or call
800-452-5772. The A&M insurance planned you are enrolled in is the A&M
Basic 50K International Insurance Plan.
