Just a reminder, that USCIS requires all international students to
enroll in a full course of study each fall and spring semester unless
they meet one of the exceptions below. A full course of study is a
minimum of twelve (12) semester credit hours for undergraduate students
and nine (9) semester credit hours for graduate students. Only one (1)
online "W" course will count toward the full course of study
requirement. Web enhanced "E" courses are considered face to face
courses.
Students who meet the following exceptions are required to submit the
Report Less Than Required Hours form
<http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/report_less_form.asp> PRIOR
to the start of the semester:
* Students in their last semester before graduation may enroll in
less than a full course of study. Please click here
<http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/forms/Immigration%20Basics%2
0for%20F-1%20Visa.pdf> for more requirements.
* Students with a full-time graduate assistantship (GA) may
enroll in less than a full course of study. Students with full-time
GA's will need to have their department submit an email to the ISSO to
confirm the GA.
* Students working on their thesis or dissertation.
Students who meet the following exceptions will need to contact the
ISSO to discuss their enrollment in less than required hours PRIOR to
the start of the semester:
* Students concurrently enrolling in classes at A&M-Commerce and
another school must have the permission of the ISSO before concurrently
enrolling
* Students with medical condition/illnesses will need to contact
the ISSO to discuss their situation
* Any other situations that may prevent you from enrolling in a
full course of study
PLEASE NOTE: Course availability and poor grades/imminent failure are
not exceptions to the full course of study requirement allowed by USCIS.
