[Intl-stu] Upcoming April events

The ISSO will provide a FREE Wal-Mart shuttle on Friday April 2 from
1-4pm.  Students will be required to email their full name, address, and
CWID# to John_Jones at tamu-commerce.edu to reserve a seat for the shuttle
by Thursday, April 1 at 2pm. 

The ISSO in partnership with an Accounting organization on-campus will
host a tax workshop on Friday, April 2 from 10am-12pm.  The location
will be announced once the reservation has been confirmed.  Due to
liability and department requirements, students attending the workshop
will be required to complete their own tax forms but individuals will be
available to answer questions.  

Optional Practical Training workshops are scheduled for Wednesday, April
14 at 3:30pm, Friday, April 16 at 10am, and Wednesday, April 28 at
3:30pm.  Students who began their academic program in Fall 2008 or after
(Sp09, Su09, F09, Sp10) are required to attend the workshop before
applying for OPT.    

The annual Multicultural Festival is scheduled for Friday, April 9 from
11-3 on the second floor of the student center.  If you have not
reserved a display table, a spot in the talent/fashion show, or to carry
your flag in the parade of flags please do so immediately.  We expect an
even larger crowd than last year for the festival and encourage all
students/groups to participate.  The tentative schedule for the festival
is as follows:

11-11:45               Parade of Flags and Opening Remarks

11:45-1:30           Display tables will be open

12:30-1                 Grupo Pakal (Mayan Performing Arts group)

1-2:30                    Talent Show 

2:30-3                    Fashion Show and Conclusion
