One way that students may participate in the Multicultural Festival is
by carrying their countries flag in the parade of flags. The parade of
flags is the opening event for the festival and students will carry the
flags around campus and this year the procession will be lead by a Mayan
Performing Arts group from the Dallas area. The event will conclude in
the conference rooms in the student center with a brief performance by
the Mayan group and then students will briefly give their name and
country. If you have a class during this time the ISSO will issue a
letter for your professor to request you be excused.

If you would like to carry your flag please email your full name and
CWID# to john_jones at tamu-commerce.edu by Monday, March 29 to allow time
to order any flags we may not have available. At this time, India is
the only country that has been confirmed for the parade.

Also, if you would like to set up a display table to share information
about your country or serve food native to your country please contact
me at the above email or come by the ISSO in Halladay 104 to pick up a
registration form. The deadline for registering for a display table or
food table is March 29, 2009 at 5pm.
