[Intl-stu] Traveling during the semester break and ISSO hours during break
International Students

Tue Dec 7 11:33:38 CST 2010
If you plan to travel outside the U.S. during the semester break please
review your I-20 line 5 to ensure your program end date is correct and
that you have a travel validation signature on the last page of your
I-20. The travel validation signature is valid for one year for reentry
and students DO NOT have to get a new signature every time they travel
outside the U.S.
If you do not have a travel validation signature on the last page of
your I-20 or your signature is older than one year from the date of your
planned reentry then you will need to bring it by the ISSO in Halladay
104 for a signature. It may take the ISSO up to three business days to
process your signature request.
The ISSO strongly recommends students carry with their passport, visa,
I-94, and I-20 when traveling within the U.S. and/or outside the U.S.
If you are traveling outside the U.S. and your visa has expired or will
expire in December or January of this year then you will need to renew
your visa before you will be allowed to reenter the U.S. For more
information on renewing your visa please visit
http://www.ice.gov/sevis/travel/faq_f.htm and
http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html.
The ISSO will be closed on Friday, December 24 and will reopen on
Monday, January 3. Please remember that during the week of January 10
through January 14 the ISSO staff will be assisting our new
international students with their pre-arrival and arrival
responsibilities. Brenda and I will not be scheduling any appointments
during this week and we will have limited availability.
