[Intl-stu] travel outside the U.S. over the holiday and break

F-1 international students who will be traveling outside the U.S. during
the Thanksgiving or semester break will need the following documents to
re-enter the U.S.:
- Valid passport
- Valid visa showing current visa category
- Current I-20 with travel authorization signature within one
year of the date you plan to re-enter the U.S.
- It is also recommended to be ready to provide your academic
transcripts and/or financial information
For F-1 international students on OPT traveling outside the U.S. you
will need:
- Valid passport
- Valid visa showing current visa category
- Current I-20 with travel authorization signature within 6
months of the date you plan to re-enter the U.S.
- Valid EAD card
- Letter of employment or job offer letter

your visa or passport has expired you will need to renew it before you
can re-enter the U.S. Please visit the Department of State website
above for more information on visa renewal and links to U.S. consulates
in your home country.
