[Intl-stu] Students applying for OPT after November 7, 2008...

Students applying for OPT employment AFTER today, November 7, 2008 will
need to complete the new I-765 form located on our website at
http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/employment_cpt_opt.asp.  The
ISSO has been aware that the previous form I-765 was expired and we have
been waiting on USCIS to update the new form on their website.  Students
applying for OPT after today will need to make note of this change and
complete the new I-765 form BEFORE their OPT appointment.  

 

Students who have already applied for OPT employment with the previous
I-765 WILL NOT need to reapply.  There will be NO PROBLEM with USCIS
regarding any previous OPT applications that used the previous I-765.
Also, the ISSO will be updating the OPT websites with the latest
regulations so be sure to check out our website in the next few weeks
for important information.
