[Intl-stu] Calling for Donations for Victims in Earthquake in Sichuan, China

[International Students]

An earthquake of magnitude 7.8, hit Sichuan province, China at 0228 CST (0728 GMT) on May 12, 2008. It was so powerful that people in a large part of China could feel it. Lots of aftershocks have affected the surrounding areas.

A large number of people have been affected by this tragedy. More than 32,000 deaths have been recorded till May 18, 2008. The number of casualties is expected to rise continually. Lots of people lost their families, friends, and beloved ones and become homeless. Fortunately, they survived from the disaster. But unfortunately, they almost lost everything. They need help to go on with their lives, to rebuild their homes, to reunite with their families, if fortunately their family members are still alive.

The Chinese Students Association (CSA) at Texas A&M University ¨C Commerce is calling for donations to provide some relief to people in need. All money collected will be used to provide food, medicine, shelter, etc. to support the survivors to go through the crucial stage and to help them rebuild their communities. We, Chinese Students Association (CSA) at Texas A&M University ¨C Commerce, thank you very much for your generous donation.
