[Intl-stu] Optional Practical Training Employment

[International Students]

This email is a reminder to all F-1 students about Optional Practical
Training (OPT) employment:

 

If you are graduating this semester then you may be eligible for OPT
employment after you graduate.  Students are eligible for up to one year of
employment in the U.S. post-graduation at each education level (associate,
bachelor, master, PhD).  This employment must be in a field directly related
to your major.  The ISS office is currently scheduling OPT appointments for
students through April 25, 2008.  Applications must be received by USCIS
(immigration) before your graduation date, and it takes up to 3 months for
USCIS to process OPT applications so if you are interested please apply as
soon as possible.  

 

If you graduating this semester and you are interested in OPT, please go to
the link below and read the information provided thoroughly.  If you would
like to schedule an appointment for OPT please email me or Brenda or come by
the ISS office.       

 

Also the ISS office will be sponsoring an OPT information workshop later
this semester, and we will provide more information on the dates and times
of the workshop later via email.
