Fri Dec 5 11:41:33 CST 2008

Students applying for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) employment for
the spring 2009 semester are encouraged to take care of their
application requirements and set up an appointment before the Christmas
break to avoid any delays for the start of your CPT employment. To
remind you, starting December 15, 2008 all international students
applying for CPT and 12-month OPT employment will be required to attend
their application appointment in person. There will be no exceptions.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) allows students who have an
internship or research course to obtain part-time or full-time paid work
experience outside the classroom. Because it works like a lab, CPT
employment dates are synchronized with a specific CPT course that
students must register for to be eligible. Employment cannot begin
before or extend beyond the dates of the course. CPT must be authorized
BEFORE employment can begin.
