Subject: End of Spring 07

Please read this message and take action on the item that applies to you.

Item 1. Congratulations to all Spring 07 graduates and best wishes in your
future career.

Now that you are no longer in Commerce, please remember to use the Online
Services available for you at The International Student web site

 http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/
<http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/>

You can use our online services to report your change of address and update
your F-1 status if there is any change.

Remember that it is required by laws for F-1 students to report the change
of address within 10 days of the change directly to the ISS so that we can
update your SEVIS record for you.

You should also report your new address in the school record by yourself
through MyLeo.

Reporting change of address in MyLeo by yourself does not update your SEVIS
record, so you have to do both.

Students who graduated on May 12, 2007 have 3 options within 60 days grace
period.

*	If you had applied for OPT employment by the deadline, you can stay
in the US in legal status and wait for your OPT card BUT you cannot begin
your employment until you receive the OPT card in your hand. Traveling
outside the US on OPT status is risky; you may be denied re-entry unless you
have an employment letter confirming your employment during OPT
authorization.

*	If you did not apply for OPT but you want to remain in the US and
continue with your full time F-1 status, you must be accepted to a new
degree and begin your Fall 07 full time enrollment by August 27, 2007. If
you want to transfer to another school, the transfer process in SEVIS must
be completed by July 11, 2007. You must directly contact me in the ISS
office as soon as possible if this is your option. Failure to be transferred
in SEVIS by July 11 will put your F-1 status at risk.

*	If you decided to leave the US and return to your home country,
please send me a message stating your departure date (must be within 60 days
from May 12) so I can complete your SEVIS record with no violations.

Item 2. If you are a student who graduated on May 12 or will be graduating
on August 11, 2007 with a Bachelor's degree and had applied for admission to
our Graduate School for a Master's degree, you must directly contact Noi
Prapan in the ISS office for a new I-20 and a change of education level in
SEVIS as soon as your admission to the Graduate School is confirmed. Failure
to report your change of education level in SEVIS within 60 days will put
your F-1 status at risk.

Item 3. If you are a student who had applied for OPT and received an OPT
card BUT just discovered that you did not meet the requirement to graduate
in Spring 07, you must contact Brenda Brand or Noi Prapan in the ISS office
as soon as possible for an advice on your OPT status. You cannot work full
time on post completion OPT if you did not meet all requirements to
graduate. Working on post completion OPT full time knowing that you do not
meet the requirement to graduate because you have to take one more class or
repeat one class is a violation.

Have a great summer and stay safe!!
