SUBJECT: GAs and students in last semester

This message is for GAs (graduate assistants) and to students in the last
semester only.

Your Spring 2007 registration for our school has ended on the 12th class day
(1/31/07).

The ISS office is now in the process of verifying and reporting your school
registration record to Immigration SEVIS .

The school record after the 12th class day shows some students are in
violation for course registration.

Remember: F-1 regulations required that undergraduate students maintain at
least 12 hours course load with only 3 hours Internet course, graduate
students maintain at least 9 hours course load with only 3 hours Internet
courses.

Exception is given if you are 20 hours GA for spring 07 or if you are
students in your last semester and have filed for graduation.

SO if you are a 20 hour GA, or spring 07 is you last semester and you have
filed for graduation and are taking less than your required course load
(less than 12 for undergrads/ less than 9 for grads), you must report your
reason to the ISS office ASAP to prevent us reporting you for violation in
SEVIS.

You can give your reason and easily submit this report online

http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/Fall_2004/Forms/report_less_form.
asp
<http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/Fall_2004/Forms/report_less_form
.asp>

Failure to report you reason for registered less than your required hours to
the ISS office may put your F-1 status at risk. Please take action ASAP.

Please ignore this message and no action is needed from you if your spring
2007 registration on the school record shows that you meet the course load
requirement. You can see your spring 07 registration record by going to
MyLeo.
