SUBJECT: Registration Hold form the International Student Services Office
(ISSO)

Many international students have questions about the "Registration Hold"
form the ISSO when you view HOLDs in MyLeo. So I want to give you an
explanation about that hold.

The Registration Hold form the ISSO will always be there just like it always
has been in the past in the WEBTRAX

(in SIS Plus system).

Now that you are using MyLeo (in Banner system) the message appears
differently.

This HOLD is only affecting the registration for classes each semester. Each
new semester, when you try to register for classes, all international
students must provide proof of insurance for that semester to the
International Student Services office (ISSO). Once the ISSO receives your
proof of insurance for that semester, your HOLD will be waived for that
semester and you are free to register or drop/add for that semester until
the 12th class day. This HOLD will come back after the 12th class day each
semester to block the registration for the following semester until new
proof of insurance for the new semester is again provided to the ISSO. This
is the continuing system that the University develops to ensure that all
international students comply with the insurance requirement before they are
allowed to register for classes every semester.

For this fall 06, all international students have provided proof of
insurance to the ISSO and have registered for classes and are taking those
classes so the HOLD is no longer affecting you for fall 06. The Hold becomes
effective again from Sep-13-2006 to Jan-01-2099 for the following semester
which is spring 07. When students provide new proof of insurance for spring
07 to the ISSO, the HOLD for spring 07 will be waived again and students are
free to register for spring 07 until the 12th class day. The same thing
happens again in the following semesters after spring 07 until students
graduate from the university.

Hope this message helps you understand the registration hold form the
international student services office and how it works.
