SUBJECT: Festival

 

This is my third e-mail regarding the 2006 Multicultural Festival, Friday,
April 7, 2006, 11am-2pm, Texas/American Ballrooms.

 

Many students have contacted me or the ISS office and signed up to
participate in this Festival. If you have not responded, please do so by
Monday, March 27. It's FUN!!! GUARANTTED!!!!

 

Currently, there are 387 international students from 55 different countries
enrolled at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

The 12th annual Multicultural Festival is hosted by the ISS (International
Student Services) and the AIS (Association of International Students) to
honor and celebrate the diversity and different cultures brought to our
campus by international students and minority students. It is your
opportunity to showcase and share your uniqueness with other students,
faculty/staff, and people in the community. The Festival will include the
Flag parade, booth display, ethnic food sampling, and talent/fashion show.
We always had about 400 people participated each year in the past.

 

The Flag Parade will be the parade of flags from different countries. The
ISS office will provide your country flag if you sign up to be a flag
carrier in the parade.

 

The Booth Display will provide you the opportunity to display or demonstrate
arts/crafts/cultures/activities of your country or organization. The ISS
will provide a table for your booth.

 

The Ethnic Food Sampling will allow you to let people sample and taste your
ethnic food. You provide the ethnic food and the ISS office will reimburse
you for the cost of food.

 

The Talent Show will feature students' talents on stage. This activity will
be judged by the panel of 3 judges and the 3 winners will be recognized.

 

The Fashion Show 

This year, the AIS has voted to add the Fashion Show to the Festival.  This
Fashion show will feature different men and women wearing their country's
traditional attire.  It will be a 10 minute presentation when
representatives of each participating country will wear and model their
attire.

For Flag Parade, Booth display, and Food sample please respond by Monday,
March 27.
