Information for Canadian Students in the United States about Canada's
Election, January 23rd
Dear Canadian Students in the United States,
As you probably know, Canadians will vote in the 39th general election on
January 23, 2006. I hope you will participate in the electoral process and
cast your vote. In this election, as is in all elections, your vote counts!
For information on the Canadian election and information on how you can
watch the election coverage on January 23rd, I invite you to visit
www.Connect2Canada.com <http://www.Connect2Canada.com> .
Canadians in several cities across the United States are getting together to
watch election returns come in on January 23. If you will be in or near
Washington D.C., Atlanta, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham or San
Francisco, visit www.Connect2Canada.com to see further event details or RSVP
for one of these events.
The Canadian-owned Elephant & Castle restaurant and pub will be showing
election results on their screens that night. The Elephant & Castle has
locations across the US, including locations in Chicago, Boston, Cherry Hill
(NJ), San Diego, Seattle, as well as locations just outside Pittsburgh and
Harrisburg (PA). For a full list visit the Elephant
<http://www.elephantcastle.com/locations.html> & Castle site.
If you can't be near any of these locations, C-SPAN has confirmed to us that
they will be broadcasting results beginning at 9:30 pm EST on either C-Span
1 or 2. Connect2Canada.com has links to election coverage delivered by the
major media, if you want to watch the election on the web. If you are
organizing an election night event and would like us to highlight it on our
website for other Canadians, let us know at
