Subject: OPT application

 

This is a reminder for students who are completing the course of studies in
the spring 06, summer I 06 or summer II-06 and want to apply for OPT
employment authorization.

 

The last day for Spring 06 OPT application is Monday, May 1, 2006.

Summer I 06 OPT application is open from June 7 to June 21, 2006.

Summer II 06 OPT application is open from July 11 to July 28, 2006.

 

Your OPT application package must reach the Texas Service Center (TSC)
before the last day of your last registered semester.

The TSC will reject and return your OPT application package if it is
received after the last day of your last registered semester.

Make an appointment with the advisers in the International Student Services
early so you can mail your OPT package to the TSC in time.

 

Remember: You are eligible for OPT application only in your last registered
semester, not necessary your graduating semester.

For most students, the last registered semester is also your graduating
semester. For some students, your last registered semester may not be your
graduating semester because you have an incomplete grade, have not passed
the comprehensive or CLEP test, or have not filed for graduation in time.
